Benefits of Handcrafted Soap

Today we are making soap again.  Fall and the holidays are our busiest time.  I love it.  The cooler weather is great for the soap to dry and cure.  We make a hot process soap.  It can be used immediately but curing it makes the bars a little more firm and lasts longer.  We like the hot process because there is no danger of sodium hydroxide that can be lingering.  Soap is a salt that is created when you add sodium hydroxide to fat.  It's as simple as that.

Handcrafted soap is very good for your skin.  If you've used it, you know how moisturizing it can be.  Homemade soap contains natural glycerin.  Store bought soap has all the natural glycerin steam extracted out.  Glycerin is a valuable pharmaceutical by product.  Cosmetic companies are happy to sell it back to you in expensive creams and lotions. When your skin is properly hydrated it functions well and can fight off disease and irritation.  Your skin is your largest organ in your body.  It is so important to take good care of it and nourish it like you do your internal organs.

Handcrafted soap is also fun and luxurious.  There are so many scents to choose from.  We love deciding "what the flavor of the month" will be in our shower.  It's nice to treat yourself to something so wonderful but so simple too.  You use soap everyday.  Why not make it the best.  It doesn't have to cost you a fortune to be good.

Many people sell handcrafted soap.  You can go to your local farmers market or craft fair and buy it or make your own.  We hope you give ours a try.  Thank you to our faithful customers.  You've helped us make our dreams come true.

  • Your soap is just wonderful! Yvette got me hooked on it while on vacation. I am using it primarily on my face, and it has made my skin soft and clear.
